I first exp hearing loss in 2021 mar. No obvious trigger just found i cannot hear clearly in a call in the right ear.

The exam shows i lost both 8k hz to 60db and lost base hearing to 50db on the right.

During the treatment the right base got back and i was happy. But in May i drank whisky and bear and it's bad again.

And in Jun. after an intense and tiring sex i woke up 4am and found extreme right ear ringing like a really loud alarm. I panicked. And it became a 20db noisy tinnutus when i wake up again.

Strang thing continues to happen. In 2022 after i played basketball for 2 hours i feel good. And in the next day i was happy and talking to people without problem. But at dinner i felt i gradually lost hearing in both ears, unable to hear people talk. My left ear was back after one week taking Medrol.

My doctor always prescrbing me sth similar to JOH. And i did chiro adjustments with some good feeling but does not prevent it from happening again.

I don't have bad vertigo. I felt dizzy only when i maintain bad posture working in front of a desk. It happened 3 times only, seems not related to my 10+ time s hearing loss.

So without vertigo, it sounds like this would be a cochlear hydrops diagnosis. It would further be tricky to call this Meniere's as the hearing loss you experienced right off the bat was high frequency, which is possible, but atypical, of Meniere's-related hearing loss.

The next step is to determine what is causing the inflammation in your inner ear.

Dizziness is sadly a very common condition, but if you are sensing a correlation and think the cause of this dizziness is related to the cause of your hearing loss, I would suspect an upper-cervical misalignment of some sorts is at play. It could be a direct issue with your spine (if so I would recommend seeing a spinal specialist) or it could be a TMJD issue.

Something about this activity could have also put pressure on the aforementioned misalignment, but one wonders. There is also a strong viral theory around Meniere's and inner-ear inflammation, specifically from the herpes virus. I wonder if it is conceivable you were seeing this in action due to your physical intimacy, though I am unclear on how immediately this could affect you, considering it was just hours later (I would need others to weigh in on this -- it could totally be possible, I just don't know). Thankfully, this forum is one of the leading sites on the relationship between the viral theory of MD, as well as treatments that best target it. You are already somewhat familiar with them, given your doctor pointed you towards a JOH-adjacent treatment.

Please note that I am not a medical professional.

I am currently in a session of Chiropractic adjustments now. After a month nothing significant is happening. I put so much hope in this lol but now I don't think upper cervical is related to my hearing loss. They also does not seem related in time.

Seeing a doctor about this in 2 days.

Thanks for the reply! Since sometimes my hearing will be back (but soon bad again) deep down I feel I can cure this. I have another theory now,

    Intense exercise
    Fever
Getting drunk ( or close to )
    Intense sex

I feel like loss of fluid is the common factor now (yes, not related to the dizzyness). Maybe loss of Zinc, Magnesium etc?

And yes you are right. My doctor is experienced in Menieres and is proud that she does not end up performing surgery with any of her patients, which means all the symptoms are under control. We've found cochlear hydrops after MRI, and she said there's a huge chance I'm MD but we're not reaching the conclusion yet. And we don't know the cause of hydrops so it happens all the time.
