Hi! David here. Long-time reader, first time posting.

Diagnosed with Meniere's over a decade ago. Verified after a CAT scan, and multiple ENT visits. Family history. Suffer from debilitating attacks over a period of generally four weeks, once or twice a year. I'm almost always slightly dizzy & experience buzzing in my left ear, but thankfully free of major symptoms the rest of the year.

    I've tried all the things:

    Exercise: Doesn't help
    Eating well: No effect
    B Vitamins: Nope
    Ginkgo: Nada
The variety of medications prescribed by my ENT: Nothing helps

I'm on the tail end of a few weeks of serious dizziness. This cycle, I experienced some of the most violent attacks ever.

Something different happened this time. After I realized I was spinning out of control, I went down on one knee, focused on an object, and started deep breathing. I continued focusing on my breath UNTIL THE WORLD STOPPED SPINNING. Hallelujah!

I think for me at least, meditation involving breathing might be useful. Anyone have any success with meditation, Yoga, or breath work? Has it helped you?

    Very truly yours,

Hello. I meditate and do breath work. It has not really changed my status. I recently received vestibular exercises from a neurologist. She states that you must do them during an attack. I will try this with focused breathing techniques. Best of luck to you. :)

I am newly diagnosed. Have had symptoms for decades, but it was incorrectly identified. I'm finding that indeed stress plays a big part in my attacks of dizziness and yes! meditation and mindful breathing do help me, too. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and validating my experience. Best wishes to all. It's definitely not fun!

Deep concentrated breathing and hyperfocusing help , but when vertigo visits it overwhelms all else. The deep breathing helps me with lesser non-vertiginous episodes.

Meditation/Breathing exercises do help when you are shaking, sweating and dizzy.
