Oh my. What a saga. The clock is ticking with those 16 pills! I'm so glad you could at least get those.

When I was making the switch back to Ranbaxy from the Cadista, the process of the pharmacy getting in the Ranbaxy was slow. I was glad I still had a bottle of Acyclovir around, that I had never finished after switching to Valacyclovir. I took a couple of them in the half a day between when I ran out of Cadista and when the Ranbaxy came in.

I hope you can find some Cadista quickly, and if not that the Ranbaxy or Northstar. I'm still curious if you'd do even better on the Ranbaxy, but I totally get it about not wanting to mess with what works. If you ever did that experiment, better to do it when you have a bunch of your tried and true Cadista around.

Santa, check with Target. They used to carry the Northstar brand - also if you are a member, check with your local Costco pharmacy and ask them if they can special order in the Candista one you like.

Thank you for all suggestions and listening.

I have switched this prescription to Wally World, Walmart.

I'm thinking that maybe I might have been a little too harsh on Roxane Lab. Maybe it wasn't their brand of Valacyclovir that made me go whoozie.
But, it probably was. You see, allergy season started about 3 weeks ago. Everybody's car is green with pollen.

What I do know is I have 90 Cadista pills and I am going to take 3 gms. per day until the allergy season is over.

If you are having trouble with generic Valacyclovir, another alternative to consider is switching to Famvir, or the generic Famciclovir. Famvir was the antiviral of choice by House Ear Clinic in CA. I've been taking the generic versions 250 mg 3 times per day for a couple of years and find it works pretty good.

They are also much smaller pills.

I posted this on the CIPLA thread but thought it was worth repeating here. This is so frustrating. I received the Aurobindo brand that looked just like Northstar (dark blue but different numbers that I did not notice). I immediately felt different, looked at the prescription bottle and saw the Aurobindo manufacturer. Target immediately was able to order the Northstar brand and swapped it out. The Target pharmacist said that they were switching vendors and will be required to use the Aurobindo brand in the future. Now I have to go look for another pharmacy that carries it.
It is so crazy that we can't request the generic manufacturer brand. The Target pharmacist said that they have to stick with the vendor preference. I encountered that same answer at 3 other pharmacies in town. I am seriously considering finding a Canadian pharmacy to fill my request for the Northstar manufacturer or even the Brand name, Glaxo Smith-Kline. It would be cheaper and I would know what I am getting. My PCP said that it is worth it if you find a reputable Canadian pharmacy that takes a written or faxed prescription before filling. Does anyone order from a Canadian pharmacy and have had good results?

Because we had such a mild winter here in Tallahassee we have had for the last four weeks so much pollen from trees and flowers. My pool is covered in pollen as well as my car and everything else in our area.I have been having lots of whoozies, especially when I am driving.

I have not had vertigo but I have a lot of pre-vertigo symptoms.

I have been back on Cadista brand of valacyclovir for awhile now and I have increased back to two times per day. Tomorrow I am going to take three and see if I can get rid of these pre-vertigo symptoms.

Sounds like a good plan. I hope it works, and quickly.

If you aren't doing the MSM part of the JOH regime, you might try adding that. MSM is supposed to help with allergies, and I think it is for me.

    Weirdly....... My saga continues

I did receive a months worth of the candista brand if valacyclovir. However; I went on a five day Male Bonding Trip with a brother in law and a friend. Amongst all the merriment I lost all of the Candista. Now I am back on the Roxane brand. I seem to be ok. Fortunately we are into our fourth consecutive day of solid rain. So, eeeehawww...., no pollen.

So.......if you are an owner of Roxane or an employee or family member I am deeply sorry for acusing you of producing an inferior product. Now that it is getting to the end of pollen season I seem to be getting back to normal. Normal for someone with Meneires

I have been taking 1 gm of Roxane's valacyclovir for about two weeks, many days 2 gms. It's definitely as good as the Candista.
