No veritigo, none since the Endo-shunt in 2012! A blessing for sure! But the daily dizziness has gotten so bad the past few months. I don't let it keep me from doing most things, but all of you know how it feels to be 'doing your usual things' you enjoy and it doesn't show, but you're miserable, due to either nausea, dizziness (maybe both) or struggling with hearing issues. I can't really complain about the tinnitus anymore--it's there and sometimes quite loud, but I've learned to 'focus' elsewhere and my hearing aids do mask it 'alot'! The thing I deal with is bad head pressure, like one would get if your b/p suddenly spiked or dropped! And dizziness that doesn't make you spin, but makes you feel like you are really working to hold your eyes open and don't dare turn too quickly, etc. It seems worse in the past few months. My ent, who did my surgery, said he 'feels for me' but there is nothing more to be done. I do wonder if anyone here has had the shunt done and had it removed or has had it cause this type of problem occur after the surgery? My doctor said it will 'stay with me to the grave'! And that it will 'not clog up' or anything like that. Sure makes one wonder because I've had tests, etc. and no answers and I get pretty down to say the least. Keeping on keeping on is the answer or one would really be a 'sad case'! And I try to do that. Just would love to enjoy it truly--again! I don't think it's MAV because one doesn't have Migraine daily and I don't have vertigo. I have tried the meds used to treat Migraine but couldn't tolerate them. So, I'm still searching for answers. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
No answers here, and I've not had the shunt. But I know exactly what you're describing as I'm dealing with the same things myself. Pretty miserable and at times it lays me low.
Big yay to no vertigo, but so sorry you've been feeling dizzy. Yes, I get how very unpleasant it is going through life feeling queasy. When I get that feeling like I have to be careful about turning my head (to the side and tilting it back) usually the BPPV is going and the Epley Maneuver stops it. Have you explored that route before? If not, I can explain more or you can look it up. Also, when I'm feeling that constant, nagging dizziness I use sea-bands. They really take the edge off for me. http://www.sea-band.com/
Yes, by the bay, I have tried the 'seabonds' and I had BPPV at one time, got rid of it with the Epley maneuver but don't get that now, I don't spin when I turn my head or look up and down just feel more dizzy! Thanks for your comment though.
