I have gotten as far as using soundcore earphones with my iphone and my old tv. For the old tv, i bought a transmitter that makes its output go to bluetooth. It seems to me the sound quality when coming from my iohone is a little better than the >10 year old magnavox tv. The tv came with the house so i dont know any more about it. The new tv i am looking at is Samsung QN55Q80CA 55" QLED 4K Smart TV. This has rear speaker absent a sound bar. But i would be using bluetooth. If the sound quality on it is not improved over the old magnavox then i would be wasting my money as i watch mainly news shows etc and the extra visual qualities wouldnt mean much to me. Is it a given that a mid range new tv would have better sound quality than a ten year old tv? I mean the sound quality i would receive thru the headphones and i only hear in the left ear so i wouldnt want stereo. Any advice is appreciated. I am woefully ignorant about all this.

The sound you will hear will not be dictated by the TV if you are using Bluetooth. It will be dictated by the headphones or buds or whatever you are using IN/ON your ears and to some extent the transmitter you are using. You can look up ratings on both transmitters and receivers (headphones, buds or bone conduction) on Amazon.

So if i am using the same headphones on the new tv as i am using on the old one with the bluetooth adapter, the sound will be the same? I will only notice a difference without head phones or maybe not even then?
