If you go with either option, you should ask if there is a lower/discounted price for paying cash. I know at my previous doctor after I went through my 10 visits covered by insurance the doctor only charged me the $40 versus the $90 that would have been billed to insurance (which of course insurance discounts and only pays them a portion).
My insurance is a Health Maintenance Organization and they don't have any chiropractors that do nucca. I called the nucca Dr and the price was a lot cheaper than what you were quoted in San Francisco. But, still out of my range considering all my other expenses.
Good News! I went for an initial hello visit with a NUCCA Chiro near me who also offers cold laser. After hearing my tales of woe, she said she wanted to help me because I am a fighter (she's an Irish lass from Pittsburg). So for $100 she did the initial exam, full X-rays..which was today…then back in for 2-3 hours working with her next Tuesday including an adjustment, more X-rays and one more follow-up adjustment. Then she can tell if what she has to offer is liklely to work for my MM and headaches and we look then at a treatment schdule. Hip Hip Hooay!
That is awesome news. I know that the Nucca for sure helped with my recurrent headaches and neck aches. I believe also has helped my Meniere's. Definitely helped align me to where I stopped limping - which I had (without realizing it) since I had torn my ACL. Will keep my fingers crossed for you. The good part of Nucca is that the goal is to get you aligned and remaining in alignment for periods of time. I can easily go 3+ months (have had to go 6 after my move) and still be in alignment when I go back now.
