    Fair...

...When you smile, the whole world stops and stares for awhile because you're amazing just the way you are.

A much needed 3 hour nap this afternoon with absolutely NO interruptions. Just me, a comfy pillow, a snuggly blanket, some beautiful music by Johann Sebastian Bach and my little kitty Emma.

It doesn't get any better than that. :)

Knowing I'm pretty much all ready for Christmas and I can spend the next couple of weeks putting on the finishing touches and doing some baking. We have friends in assisted living and made friends with some of the ladies at the nursing home where my mom was before she passed. I think they'll enjoy a little box of goodies and it will make me happy to do something nice for them. Sad to say, but some of the residents never get visitors.

    Thanks, Rose.

Sometimes you can walk into some eye opening situations. It's the saddest thing to go to a nursing home and find out from the nurses that some of the residents were basically just dropped off there and no one ever comes to take them out for a ride, join them for any of the activities or even to visit them. Any small gesture of kindness will bring tears to their eyes, men and women alike. It just seems like the right thing to do.

Sounds like you had a good time tonight. Aren't twins the greatest?

I woke up this morning with a very bad case of the blues and a whole host of things that are concerning to me. An old high school friend and my nephew's Mom both battling colon cancer right now being amongst the most scary and worrisome of them.

I was hoping I would come here to the Front Porch and find something to help me forget my troubles, lighten my spirits and make me smile for just a little while. Instead, I find the same few people posting the same tired insults, jabs, cryptic threads, rude comments and general nonsense that even my 12 and 13 year old nieces wouldn't utter or approve of and it has now spilled over into the Fun and Games Room as well.

I understand that not everyone at this forum is going to get along with everyone else but what I DON'T understand is why the rest of us have to be subjected to these ongoing childish feuds. If you have a problem with someone then please work out your differences through private messaging where it belongs.

So to answer my own question.....What Brought A Smile To Your Face Today? Absolutely NOTHING on the Front Porch. :(

    Lulu,

Sorry you're having a bad day. Sorry you're not being entertained here, too.

You're right. It's the same old people stirring the pot. The rest of us try so hard to relax in the front porch and the fun and games room where hardly anyone else is active. Until they decide to cause drama.
It's the same as the old board. Only one person is missing but the others still carry on.

Try fun and games, you always made a great contribution there. :)

    Hope you day gets better.

Bea you've always been very kind to me and I truly appreciate that but unless you stop seeing yourself as a victim and recognize that you also have a hand in the ongoing drama that's been occurring at the forum then nothing will ever change around here. Can you honestly say you've never posted a harsh word or insult about anyone here? Will I be the next person to be secretly slammed in a post on the Front Porch or the Fun and Games Room for sharing my thoughts?

I see absolutely no reason why the members of this forum can't get along and behave like adults. Differing opinions and diverse personalities are expected and really do keep things interesting but making fun of forum members who don't share your (your in general) opinions on cryptic threads that make no sense to anyone other than a couple of people is childish and blocking PMs so no one is able to question whether or not those posts are aimed at them is cowardly in my opinion.

Don't we all have enough challenges in our lives dealing with MM on a daily basis without having the added stress of harboring grudges and taking pot shots at each other? No one needs that extra stress.....I know I sure don't. So I hope everyone will take a deep breath, let go of the anger and resentment and try to get along a little better. Not just for the sake of the forum but for yourselves as well. Enough is enough folks...it's time to start harmoniously sharing this forum again.

I know this post will probably either be deleted or this entire thread will be locked or deleted or (good heavens!) I may even get banned but I've kept my feelings to myself long enough.

Thank you Nathan. I'm pretty sure this little thread of mine has just been reported to Ray so it's probably about to get locked or go bye bye forever (maybe along with me too.)

Oh well....at least I got to speak my piece which is something I rarely do but I felt it needed to be said.

  18. I agree with you Lu. I'll do my part. Sorry you're going through a rough time. Hope it all works out.

It brought a smile to my face to see OTHERS putting it all on me. It seems to me looking back over posts that I rarely through stuff out there first.
I will admit to being outspoken. I will admit to being defensive.

I've said before that this board is big enough for all of us.

BTW, personal messages do not mean a thing when people make them public. Blocking them also comes along with the wonderful feature here that allows us to ignore others posts as they continually become inflammatory.

Sorry you're feeling this way Lulu, and I apologize for any part I play in it.
I'll do my part as well. Let's see how that goes.

Seems to me that everybody thinks everything posted is directed at them when it's not. Silly really.

Everyone can blame me for the disharmony, I can take it.
You all can say I play the victim card, throw out insults to everyone without provocation, you can even say when I disagree with someone's opinion I attack them with name calling and insults.

    None of that is true.
I harbor no grudges against anyone here. I never have.
But it would seem by the above posts that others can't say the same.
If another member on the forum and I discuss a photo only we saw... I cannot see how anyone could call it hateful, mean, or cruel. You don't even know what we were talking about!
Maybe you're feeling left out. Was that mean?
If you all would post more and be nicely interactive with others, maybe the forum would be better for it.

nwspin, I don't know you, you don't seem to know me, I don't understand why you would get involved and accelerate a situation that is spiraling out of control.

THIS is exactly what gets threads deleted. Not me, not my posts.
