What an ordeal, Marta. Mother Nature seems to be mad at all of us these days. The best laid plans and all that... just when we think we're going to get a holiday all hell breaks loose. What a good soul you are to pitch in without trumping.. Two scoops of ice cream for you. There is so much awful crap going on in this world so my plight with the hail is not a very big deal. Perspective is important when we become aware of how others are truly suffering. I'm anxious to hear how you and your family are doing, Marta. Has it stopped raining?
Melc It is still raining ☔️I have slept about 3 hours within the lasts 30h but still functioning. And still able to read the posts Ha ha Thank you for your kind words
Oh that's awful, Marta. I see auto correct changed my word grumping to trumping. I guess it still has the same meaning! You will have such a good sleep when you get this under control. Thinking of you and hoping it has stopped raining!
sometimes I do fair well most of the time really,I know how you feel about your raysYou see that picture I uploaded on instagram of the quilt?
Melc, How did the cleanup at the allotment go? Did you pull all your onions? Do you think you will eventually be able to harvest some other veggies? I hope you get something for all your hard work. Marta, I hope the rain has stopped by now and that the water didn't actually make it into the house. Did your brother make it home yet? It's time for you to start the fun part of your holiday, but it was so good of you to help out like you did. It sounds like you arrived just in time. What would they have done without you?
Hi Cheryl, We cleaned up all that we could. About half the onions had the tops severed so we harvested them. They'll cure nicely and I'll use them up while the rest gets a bit bigger. Beans took a beating but we still will have enough to eat fresh. There won't be any to put away for winter, tho. The squash has hardly any leaves. There is some fruit that had been pollinated so it remains to be seen if there are enough leaves to feed them. Carrots and beets lost a lot of leaves, not sure if we'll get corn. Right now we are under a s very weather watch from now until midnight with a good chance of more hail. Marta, Have you built an ark, yet? Like Cheryl, I hope the worst is over and that your holiday has begun.
No that was the will I found on Photobucket remember me telling you about it?the member on the other juicy forum shared,
Melcand Cheryl no ark had to be built luckily the house is safe now and hadn't it been for 3 brave super girls the outcome would have been different. My brother made it home last night therefore I was able to sleep for 12 hours in my own bed. What an adventure! No more of this type ha ha Melc I am praying for no more hail in your area! Enough is enough. Stay well lovely ladies
Yay! Marta. I think you deserve an ice cream or two. You probably burned off a calorie or two with all that bailing! Your good thoughts worked, Marta. We had a good rain last night with no ice in it. It was actually a very beautiful lightening show. We sat out on the deck after it cooled off and enjoyed the light show . I'm not sure what time zone you are in right now so I'll say I hope you are having or have already had a fun day today.
Love it! Thank you for that. I haven't heard that one in a long time. Spent some time yesterday teaching the little one "You Are My Sunshine." It's going to be "our" song. ;D
