As far as I can tell, this would be our best shot and the option we ought to push for availability in the immediate future, but I haven’t heard anything about it since last year. Info, if anyone has it?
This is the thing we should be hounding. I wonder if there’s a way to donate specifically to this research? Then we may be able to direct awareness somewhere? It says investigational, but a precursor to a precursor is more than nothing.
I do wonder, though, if the ear must be somehow intact. Like I’m curious if this would be usable by us or if something else would need to be done in addition to a proof of concept.
Is this a newer implant? I did not see any dates on there. There was an implant a few years back and the guy who was the guninea pig had an implant but after the surgery he ironically never got any vertigo so they never got to test it. His name is Gene. Will see if I can find the old thread.
The guy I heard about was bilateral, though I don't know why he was bilateral. I'm not sure this is the same device.
Look up Dr. Della Santini at Johns Hopkins. Below are two links about the implant one is for an open trial but unfortunately excludes menieres sufferers https://sites.google.com/site/vestibularneuroengineering/Home/vestibular-implant-trial https://sites.google.com/site/vestibularneuroengineering/
