Anyone have any info on these two Meniere's specialists? Mayo Clinic recommends them as East Coast Meniere's specialists. I want to go to someone better than I am seeing locally, and I'm on the East Coast (NY)-wondered if anyone knows anything about them?

    Thanks!

I saw Dr. Lalwani when I was first dx. At the time he was at UCSF in California and my oto sent me to him too see if he could help me. He couldn't. Basically he told me what every other doctor has said. "There's nothing we can do for you, but don't worry. When you go deaf we can give you a cochlear implant." That was 16 years ago. Don't know if he's learned anything since then.

Thanks so much, shartsoe-I'll rule him OUT then! That helps a lot!

I live in NJ and go to Dr.Sujana Chandrasekhar . I see her at the Manhattan ear Hospital on East 64th St. I am happy with her so far. She does not believe in antivirals but got them from my primary dr. and she was ok with it.

Can you go see Dr Gacek in MA? Or is that too far?

I do go to Dr. Gacek, thanks-he treats me with AVs, which are only working on a limited basis for me now that we had to lower the dosage! We can't raise the dose any more. He suggested the dex injection, which my doc here did and it's not working. I do have a call in to him, but not sure what more he can do, since he really specializes in the AVs.
