Vestibular study done, the results of two of the three tests are perfect and in the third test (cold-hot air in the ears to cause nystagmus) it is almost perfect too, I have a 7% deficit in my healthy ear and 14% in my sick ear. But the ENT told me that a deficit of 14% goes into what is considered normal hearing without problems.

I understand what it says, but that it is twice as much in my healthy ear makes me suspect that this is only just beginning and that if I have more attacks of vertigo it will get worse.

In any case, the ENT says that she does not think I have Meniere, she believes that my tinnitus, dizziness and vertigo are the result of stress and nerves. Regarding hearing loss, stress would not be a cause and he has sent me to have a cochlear MRI to try to find an explanation for my hearing loss.

Obviously if the MRI finds a cause for my hearing loss then it would not be Meniere, but I highly doubt it. It won't be that easy.

In any case, there are my doubts:
-Has anyone done a cochlear MRI? Did it serve any purpose?
-If I have something in my cochlea that causes me to lose hearing, could it be treatable?
-Do you know someone who has tinnitus and stress dizziness and has been cured by relaxing?

I have never heard of a cochlear MRI. Where are you getting that performed?

They will send me a letter with my appointment telling me which Hospital to go to. In my country we all have the right to healthcare (something similar to your Obamacare, but with full coverage), people with money also have private insurance where they carry out consultations and tests without waiting lists.

All you need is to follow the bureaucracy a bit, you cannot directly ask for a medical test. In this case, the protocol would be to go to my primary care doctor to tell him about my problem and if he considers it necessary, he makes an appointment for a specialist (in this case an ENT), the ENT doctor will examine me again and do some tests (audiometry) and he referred me to the Hospital specializing in ENT, there an otoneurologist after examining me and doing a vestibular study gave me an appointment for the MRI.

Now I just have to wait for the appointment date to come home by letter or phone. In this case, as it is not urgent, it will take between 3-6 months.

Isn’t it just an MRI of the inner ear?
